Exam format
Roughly 2 hours 15 minutes total, computer-delivered, with one optional break.
Quantitative Reasoning
Problem solving questions across algebra, arithmetic and word problems, all multiple-choice.
Verbal Reasoning
Reading comprehension and critical reasoning questions. Sentence correction was removed in the Focus Edition.
Data Insights
Multi-source reasoning, table analysis, graphics interpretation and two-part analysis in one integrated section.

The GMAT Focus Edition lets you bookmark and edit up to three answers per section — plan which questions you're likely to want to revisit.
